Week #3

So week three I thought that I would talk about our 2020 Presidential Election, more specifically I thought I would talk about Elizabeth Warren who just recently dropped out. Personally I am not a very political person, I have very big opinions on a lot of topics like abortions and Gun rights but I don’t like to talk about politics because I believe that every political discussion ends with an argument, if it’s not a huge fight someone definitely leaves the conversation upset. I should also preface that I grew up in a republican family that has some democrat views, I should also say that my family isn’t that political as well or they at least don’t talk about it around me; but as I've grown and found my own ideals I have become a democrat. So yesterday I was bored and browsing Instagram when I stumbled across this video of a take on a viral trend that has been going around but this time the video had an SNL member dressed as Elizabeth Warren and Elizabeth Warren dancing; so at the

Week #4

I don’t believe that there isn’t a person alive older than the age of 6 that doesn’t know what Google is, everyone nowadays uses Google; I wouldn’t even be surprised if a lot of people believe that the internet is just Google. It’s the 21st century and we are in the midst of the technological revolution with new hardware coming out every day, media has gone from being on the tv to your smartphone. Everyday millions of people use Google to shop, ask questions, post their opinions, listen to music, watch videos and millions of other things. After reading this article I believe that it necessarily may not be Google’s fault that they have come into this market dominance because everyone uses Google because they know it. The Esports team here at High Point University even has a running joke that you can’t use any other search engine other than Google. Also most companies know that everyone uses Google so that's why they are willing to go into these binding contracts with Google because

The Progressive Era

For this blog post we were tasked with write about our thoughts after we viewed this antiwar websites, and to be my honest I'm not really into war in general I have my views but I'm neither for nor against it; my thoughts on war are if we need it go to war than so be it but I also think that a lot of the wars that we have fought in the past have there positives and their negatives. Due to my indifferent stance I've never really kept up with the wars that are currently going on, I couldn't tell you anything that's going on, I even have relatives that are in the Navy about to be deployed so I support them but I don't even know where they're going nor what they are going to do overseas. Though since we were tasked with going onto these sites I have to say that I have never seen any of these websites, but I definitely knew that that these sites existed because you can actually find anything on the web nowadays. To be totally honest I have a really good idea of w

History of Youtube

Youtube was founded on February 14, 2005 by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim. The three paypal employees first came up with the idea after realizing that there wasn’t one location where you could share videos, and it wasn’t until the Janet Jackson Super Bowl and the December tsunami that they finally decided to create Youtube. In 2005 the three received a start up fund of $11.5 Million from Sequoia Capital. The first ever video that was created was named “Me at the Zoo'' and it was uploaded by Karim and it currently has 86 million views. After the site eventually blew up Google bought Youtube for $1.65 Billion, they also allowed Youtube to remain independently operated. Nowadays you can watch a plethora of different videos on Youtube like: gaming, news, music and the ever popular vloggers. When the site first kicked off the most popular ‘Youtubers’ were gaming channels from the likes of Markiplier, SkyDoesMinecraft and Pewdiepie; nowadays the most popular channels are vl
